[SMM Analysis: Some Separation Plants Plan to Halt Production for Maintenance, Pr-Nd Oxide Production in January Expected to Decline Significantly] In December 2024, domestic Pr-Nd oxide production continued to see a slight decrease MoM, while Pr-Nd alloy production increased MoM. The main reduction in Pr-Nd oxide production was observed in Sichuan and Shandong, while the main increase in Pr-Nd alloy production occurred in Sichuan and Inner Mongolia.

SMM, January 2: In December 2024, domestic Pr-Nd oxide production continued to see a slight decline MoM, while Pr-Nd alloy production increased MoM. The main reduction in Pr-Nd oxide production occurred in Sichuan and Shandong, while the main increase in Pr-Nd alloy production was seen in Sichuan and Inner Mongolia.

After entering December, some metal plants that had previously been in a state of production cuts resumed normal production activities. This change directly led to a slight 1% increase in national Pr-Nd alloy production in December compared to November. However, regarding the operation of separation plants, the operating rates of separation plants in Shandong and Sichuan further declined. This may have been caused by various factors, including but not limited to raw material supply issues, changes in market demand, or adjustments related to environmental protection.

Entering the new year, some separation enterprises are expected to suspend production for maintenance in January. This plan is expected to directly impact Pr-Nd oxide production, with a significant MoM decline anticipated for January. This change may not only affect the supply-demand relationship within the industry but also cause fluctuations in market prices. Some metal plants may procure and stockpile this raw material in advance, potentially preventing further declines in Pr-Nd oxide prices in the future.
